En esta oportunidad, y gracias a la amabilidad de Magic Factory, les traemos esta revisión del kit en escala 1:350 del destructor Tipo 055 de la Armada del Ejército Popular de Liberación (PLA Navy) China.
A primera vista y con solo abrir la caja, la cual posee un interesante arte de tapa, podemos apreciar que el kit ya asombra por la calidad de las piezas y del plástico utilizado. Además, cada árbol o componente que integran el modelo se encuentran debidamente separados en bolsas selladas, lo que garantiza una mayor protección de las piezas y la imposibilidad de perder alguna de ellas. Incluso, las partes que forman el casco se encuentran con protectores plásticos que aseguran su integridad.
Así, podemos ver que el kit se halla compuesto por cuatro grandes piezas que componen el casco del buque, divididas en ambas bandas, la parte inferior del mismo u obra muerta, como así también la estructura interna. A su vez que por separado encontramos el bulbo del sonar, los ejes de las hélices y timones. Esta configuración permite que el buque pueda montarse con el casco completo o en formato waterline.
Luego otras seis piezas constituyen las superestructuras, que serán completadas con componentes provistos en los demás árboles. En cuanto a las superestructuras es de destacar que se incluyen piezas que permiten optar por realizar cualquiera de los buques operativos de esta clase.
Es necesario resaltar que todo el kit puede ensamblarse con el sistema de snap, esto es encastrando las partes sin necesidad de pegamento, y que cada sección del buque se encuentra moldeada en plástico precoloreado, lo que sin dudas constituye un atractivo para aquellas personas que no son modelistas y desean poseer un modelo de estos destructores pero a la vez ahorrarse todo el trabajo que montar un kit de estas características supone.
Dejando de lado las partes que forman el casco y superestructuras principales, nos encontramos con los diez árboles –ordenados de la A a la J- que contienen las cubiertas, armamentos, más partes de las superestructuras, helicóptero, sistemas electrónicos, hélices y un completo etcétera. Como ya mencioné, todo ello en plástico precoloreado de acuerdo a los colores de los buques originales. Así es como encontramos árboles moldeados en plástico color gris claro y oscuro, negro, rojo e incluso dorado. Por último, se nos ofrece la base moldeada en plástico negro.
El nivel de detalle y calidad de matricería que presenta la maqueta es digno de destacar, lo que seguramente deje conforme a cualquier modelista exigente. Me sorprendió gratamente también la delgadez de los puntos de unión de cada pieza con su respectivo árbol, lo que a mi entender ahorra tiempo de lijado y facilita el desprendimiento de las mismas.

On this occasion, and thanks to the kindness of Magic Factory, we bring you this review of the 1:350 scale kit of the Type 055 destroyer of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA Navy).
At first glance and just by opening the box, which has an interesting cover art, we can appreciate that the kit already amaze due to the quality of the pieces and the injected plastic. In addition, each sprue or component is properly separated in sealed bags, which guarantees greater protection of the pieces and the impossibility of losing any of them. Even the parts of the hull are covered with plastic protectors that ensure their integrity.
Thus, we can see that the kit is made up of four large pieces that make up the ship's hull, divided into both sides, the bottom, as well as the internal structure. At the same time that separately we find the sonar bulb, the axes of the propellers and rudders. This configuration allows the ship to be assembled with a full hull or waterline.
Then another six pieces constitute the superstructures, which will be completed with components provided in the other sprues. As for the superstructures, it's noteworthy that the pieces included allow you to choose any of the operational ships of this class.
It's necessary to highlight that the entire kit can be assembled with the snap system, that is, fitting the parts together without the need for glue, and that each section of the ship is molded in pre-colored plastic, which undoubtedly constitutes an attraction for those who are not modelers, and want to own a model of these destroyers but at the same time save all the work involved in building a kit of these characteristics.
Leaving aside the parts that make up the hull and main superstructures, we find the ten sprues -ordered from A to J- that contain the decks, armaments, more parts of the superstructures, helicopter, electronic systems, propellers and a complete etc. As I already mentioned, all of it in pre-colored plastic according to the colors of the original ships. This is how we find sprues molded in light and dark gray, black, red and even gold plastic. Finally, the kit brings us the base molded in black plastic.
The level of detail and quality of tooling that the model presents is worth noting, which will surely satisfy any demanding modeler. I was also pleasantly surprised by the thinness of the joining points of each piece with its respective sprue, which in my opinion saves sanding time and makes it easier to detach them.

Así como el kit provee opciones para representar cualquiera de los buques de su clase, lo propio hace con el juego de calcas proveyendo los numerales del 101 al 108. Las hojas también incluyen todo el dibujo de la cubierta de vuelo, como así también diversas marcaciones del buque y helicóptero y banderas, juntamente con la placa identificatoria para la base. Las calcas se ofrecen en dos opciones para su utilización, autoadhesivas o al agua, lo que suma otro punto a favor de los modelistas ocasionales o sin ningún tipo de experiencia.

Just as the kit provides options to represent any of the ships of its class, the same is done with the set of decals, providing the numerals from 101 to 108. The sheets also include the entire drawing of the flight deck, as well as various markings. of the ship and helicopter and flags, together with the identification plate for the base. The decals are offered in two options for their use, stickers or water-slide, which adds another point in favor of occasional modelers or those without any kind of experience.

Las instrucciones de armado se encuentran en un pequeño libro de 30 páginas, bien ilustradas y detalladas, haciendo muy claro su entendimiento, a su vez que separa el armado por secciones (casco, cubiertas, superestructuras, armamentos, sistemas electrónicos y accesorios del buque). Quizás la única observación que puedo hacer es que la guía de pintura no refiere a los colores específicos que deben utilizarse, pero eso de ninguna manera afecta a la calidad del kit ni supone un escollo para cualquier modelista avezado que sabrá con facilidad de que colores echar mano al momento de pintar el kit.

The assembly instructions are found in a small 30-page book, well illustrated and detailed, making their understanding very clear, separating the assembly by sections (hull, decks, superstructures, armaments, electronic systems and ship accessories). Perhaps the only observation I can make is that the painting guide doesn't refer to the specific colors that should be used, but that doesn't affect the quality of the kit and it is not an obstacle for any seasoned modeler who will easily know what colors to use when painting the kit.

Conclusión
Creo que nos encontramos ante un producto de muy alta calidad conforme a los estándares que hoy exige el ambiente del modelismo. El armado del buque a simple vista no parece ofrecer grandes complicaciones y en apariencia el encastre de las piezas pareciera ser correcto. Seguramente haya que aplicar algo de masilla en algunas uniones, pero algo que es común a cualquier kit. Las instrucciones son claras y bien graficadas y las calcas al agua se ven de buena calidad. A mi entender es un kit que puede montarse de caja con el sólo agregado de algunos detalles como barandillas y demás, lo común a cualquier modelo naval, y el resultado será excelente. Además, supone un buen producto que dejará muy conforme tanto al modelista ocasional como al más experimentado.

Conclusion
I believe that we are facing a very high quality product in accordance with the standards that modeling demands today. The assembly of the ship at first glance does not seem to offer great complications and apparently the fitting of the pieces seems to be correct. Surely you have to apply some putty in some joints, but something that is common to any kit. The instructions are clear and well illustrated and the water decals look of good quality. In my opinion it is a kit that can be built out of the box with the only addition of some details such as railings and something else, common to any naval model, and the result will be excellent. In addition, it is a good product that will satisfy both the occasional modeler and the more experienced one.
